h2n announces the launch of the first report on gender and media in mozambique

h2n announces the launch of the first report, of a series of four editions to be published annually, on gender and media, produced under the implementation of the Asas project (Project for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Adolescent Girls in Mozambique). The report that will be launched today, entitled Annual Report on Gender in the Media 2021, analyzes the situation and the reports on gender produced and published by the main national media outlets.

Around the world, fewer than three out of every ten people read, heard or seen in newspaper, television and radio news are women, according to research by the Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP). The h2n report addresses how gender aspects are portrayed in the national media context and highlights the importance of including a woman’s perspective in the news media.

h2n is a non-governmental organization that offers innovative programs to expand community-based communication, works to spread effective messages for the improvement and promotion of public health, establishes actions to promote and defend gender equality, seeks and encourages youth engagement, stimulates civic participation, and promotes early childhood development. h2n also works to improve the quality of health reporting in the media by encouraging inclusive media and facilitating the adoption and use of audiovisual tools and digital communication technologies.
